To Turn Anew: A Celebration of Tim Philbrick

With its roots in the 19th-century Arts and Crafts movement, the Studio Furniture movement of the late 20th century used handmade, functional objects as a medium for intellectual and emotional expression, imbuing those objects with social and cultural concerns. Longtime Athenæum Board member Tim Philbrick (1952-2022) was a leading figure in the Studio Furniture movement and a dear friend to our institution.
