The Travel & Exploration Collection of over 2,500 volumes includes many from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
Among the titles are the writings of chroniclers, antiquarians, historians, natural historians, geographers, cartographers, navigators, biographers, and the works of those whose descriptions and collections of views have implied travel. A larger number of accounts, journals, letters, dispatches, and sketches by travelers have been contributed by explorers, merchants, adventurers, diplomats, missionaries, health-seekers, physicians, emigrants, ‘ramblers,’ artists, writers, journalists, surveyors, and scientists.
