Fri, Apr 23, 2021 @ 5:30 pm6:30 pm

Rita Dove served as Poet Laureate of the United States from 1993-1995, the youngest person and first African American to be appointed. She won the Pulitzer Prize in 1987 and received the National Humanities Medal from president Clinton and the National Medal of Arts from President Obama – the only poet ever to receive both. Her upcoming poetry collection, Playlist for the Apocalypse, investigates the vacillating moral compass guiding America’s, and the world’s, experiments in democracy.

Playlist for the Apocalypse (August 3, 2021) by Rita Dove is available for pre-order through the Brown Bookstore and other local independent booksellers.
