The Providence Athenæum is delighted to extend special memberships to teachers in the Providence Public School System, completely free of charge.
As an Athenæum member, you are part of one of the oldest surviving cultural institutions in Providence. Founded in 1836 to provide public access to books and materials, the Athenæum pre-dates Rhode Island’s public libraries. Who better to invite to join us than our city’s public school teachers?
With your membership, you gain access to the almost 180,000 items that make up our collection. You are welcome to borrow circulating items (including books, DVDs, periodicals, and audiobooks; see circulation policies below) and request viewings of items in the Special Collections. We invite you to bring your classes to the library for special tours and events. We also extend an invitation for you, your community, and students to join us at our free, public programs held at the First Unitarian Church (email email@example.com for more information on reserving seats).
If you have any questions regarding your membership, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. For circulation-specific inquiries, call the Circulation Desk at 401-421-6970 or email email@example.com.
